Writing a Generic College Essay - How to Write a Story Like the One Your Cousin Told You

Writing a Generic College Essay - How to Write a Story Like the One Your Cousin Told YouWriting a generic college essay is much like writing a generic academic essay. Except when you are writing a generic college essay, you have to be careful about what sort of style you use. You need to use a style that suits the question and answer portion of the essay but not one that sound too formal.Standard style of writing is 'I know nothing', which can be a big turn off for many people. That's why most writing teachers use an editorial heading at the top of the page to address this sort of question. This will show the reader that they should read further to find out more. It also provides the writer with an opportunity to restate themselves for clarity. Here's a good story: When I was a kid, my cousin taught me how to play football, and he told me a story about a good story. (When I was in high school, I used to listen to him tell the story.) The story was about a young man who made a good liv ing driving delivery trucks, and when a fire broke out in one of his trucks, he saved all of the lives of the employees. When he heard that a fire was starting in the kitchen of one of the truck drivers, he frantically grabbed the hoses and hose racks and started pulling them out and putting them back into place. He then went to the kitchen to save his fellow truck drivers. Now I'm not going to give you the whole story, but if you were to ask him what kind of truck driver he was, he would tell you.You can write stories like this and use simple details and words to tell the reader what your point is, but it takes an education to know when you've gone too far and can't go any further. Too much detail in a story like this will cause the reader to stop reading.Specific examples are a good idea when describing a good story. The detail should not seem like a construction of filler words and personal opinion, but should be defined by facts. This way, the reader knows where the story is goin g and will be interested in where it is going.Using details such as the name of the truck driver is a good way to describe a specific person in a generic college essay. The name is not required, but it adds some specificity to the essay. There are other elements that can be used to describe this person. Using a specific example such as this will make it easier for the reader to understand the general story.Using simple, direct language is key to writing a generic college essay. If you can get past the first paragraph, your essay should flow well from there. Remember, the purpose of a college writing assignment is to pass a class and earn a grade.
